Physical Therapy:

  • Provide educationally based Physical Therapy Evaluations, Goals/Objectives and treatment.
  • Provide supportive documentation for services and timely progress reports for parental review.
  • Ensure the educational model vs. the medical model of PT services are distinguished and recommended to the IEP committee.

  • Work with students who exhibit challenging behaviors to develop coping mechanisms and positive behavior management strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a comprehensive behavior support plan.
  • Provide training and support to help students maintain positive behavior in school and other settings.

Adapted PE:

  • Modify physical education activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of students with disabilities.
  • Promote physical fitness, motor development, and participation in physical activities while ensuring safety and enjoyment.
  • Use specialized equipment and techniques to accommodate various physical limitations.

Assistive Technology:

  • Provide Assistive Technology evaluations, services and strategies
  • Work closely with staff and students to assist with implementation and carry over of assistive technology needs
  • Offer strategies for student success as it pertains to Assistive Technology

Diagnosticians:

  • Complete comprehensive evaluations on students suspected of disabilities and write formal reports.
  • Complete re-evaluations of students who meet disability eligibility requirements and currently receive special education services.
  • Assist the ARD committee in the development of appropriate IEPs for students with disabilities.

Bilingual Diagnostician:

  • Conduct evaluations for students who are English language learners, considering the impact of language on their performance.
  • Use culturally and linguistically appropriate assessment tools and strategies.
  • Provide comprehensive reports and recommendations for IEP development.

School Psychologists:

  • Provide mental health services to students, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support.
  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments to identify emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop strategies for supporting students’ mental health and well-being.

Bilingual School Psychologist:

  • Provide mental health services to students who are English language learners, ensuring culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate support.

Compliance:

  • Ensure that your school district adheres to all federal and state regulations regarding special education services.
